Do I need to be pre-qualified to do business with the College?

No, the College does not have a pre-qualification process. However, see the Vendor Registration page to be added to the College's internal vendor database.

My company does business with the Cecil County Government. Does this mean that I am approved as a vendor for the College?

While the College is able to participate with the Cecil County Government for procurement, each county entity has a separate purchasing office and vendor database. Community colleges are governed by Title 16 Education of Maryland Law.

I want to do business with the College. Should I contact individual departments to speak with them?

Please contact the Procurement Office at (410) 287-1073 for assistance in reaching the proper party to discuss the product or service you wish to offer to the College.

I have new information about a product. How can I let the College know?

Please send any information to the attention of the Procurement Office by email to purchasing@nullcecil.edu or call (410) 287-1073. The Purchasing Office is located in the Community Cultural Center (Building A) on the third floor at One Seahawk Drive, North East, MD 21901.

Where can I find current procurement information and is there a threshold for bids?

All College purchases $50,000.00 and more are advertised on the College's Current Procurements page. In order to view the current procurements, vendors must first register. College solicitations are also advertised in the Cecil Whig.

Are there terms and conditions for purchases for the College?

How do I raise questions or issues about a particular bid or request for proposal?

Vendors should email questions to purchasing@nullcecil.edu. The deadline for questions will be posted in the bid/proposal documents. Answers will be posted in the form of an addendum and posted on our web site.

From what taxes is Cecil College exempt?

Cecil College is generally exempt from Federal excise and Maryland Sales and Use tax. A tax exemption certificate is available upon request. Please complete the Tax Exempt Certificate Form and e-mail to purchasing@nullcecil.edu.
