Real Students, Real Success

I received my RN degree from Cecil in 2002, which enabled me to have a successful career and care for my parents in their final years. My parents valued education and community service and I created a scholarship in their memory to support a nursing student. I want to help other students care for patients and family members.

Establish a Scholarship

Dr. Mary Way Bolt accepts a donation to create the Rising Sun Chamber of Commerce Endowed Scholarship from chamber officers.

The Cecil College Foundation is seeking contributions for Cecil College student scholarships. Donors can establish a personalized endowed scholarship to be held in perpetuity, or create a temporarily restricted scholarship to be used within an academic year. The donor determines if the award is need or merit-based, is for a particular major or program area, and other directives.

Endowed Scholarship

When an individual or organization establishes an endowed scholarship, the gift is set aside as principal to be invested in perpetuity. The income and earnings from the principal are distributed as scholarship awards. Endowed scholarships are established with a minimum of $10,000. If an endowed scholarship is established with less then $10,000, it will be considered an emerging endowment. All interest will go into the principal until the $10,000 level is attained, at which time it will become an endowed scholarship.

Temporarily Restricted Scholarships

Temporarily Restricted scholarships are established as short-term or recurring annual gifts based on the donor's preference. The entire gift is awarded to students within one academic year.

Financial Management

The Fund Management Committee of the Cecil College Foundation, Inc., in accordance with its investment policies, manages all Foundation funds. The Foundation's financial records are audited annually and a copy of the latest audit is available upon request.

Cecil College Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization.

Donors can also make a gift to an existing endowed or temporarily restricted scholarship or to the Textbook Scholarship Fund, which provides books for needy students.

To create or donate to a scholarship contact the Foundation at 410-287-1146.
