Save Our Sound!
The theatre is in dire need of replacing its antiquated sound system and we hope that as a dedicated patron of the theatre, you will consider making a donation to the campaign.
When the Milburn Stone Theatre opened its doors in 1991 it did so with a refurbished sound system. The college and community recognized the importance of having a performing arts center in Cecil County and would not allow the inability to purchase an adequate sound system to deter them from opening the theatre. Rightly so, because the Milburn Stone Theatre has been embraced as a premier provider of performing arts in the region. In the past five years the theater has gone from producing four shows a year and serving under 4,000 patrons to producing 10 shows annually. Last year, 20,555 individual patrons attended an event at the Milburn Stone Theatre. Today, the theatre is still using the same sound equipment installed for its initial opening almost twenty-five years ago, and while patronage, performances, and expectations are ever-increasing the sound system is failing.
With each show we lose an amplifier, a microphone, a receiver, a monitor. With each show we receive complaints
from patrons that our shows are hard to enjoy due to the poor sound quality. There are no more patches, there
are no more repairs that can be made; at this point we need to replace the system in order to Save Our Sound!

Take Your Seat
The Milburn Stone Theatre presents the inaugural Take Your Seat campaign, starring you! We are asking patrons to become a permanent fixture of Milburn Stone by supporting their local theatre. The Take Your Seat campaign allows you to engrave your name—or that of a family member, friend, professor or loved one—on a plaque affixed on the back of one of our seats at the Milburn Stone Theatre. For as long as the seat remains in the theatre, your support will be apparent to all who sit in that seat.
Some important facts about donating:
A donation allows you to name one seat, for multiple seat donations, please see the house manager after the performance or contact the box office at 410-287-1023.
Naming a seat does not guarantee admission or specific reservation for any event.
The Milburn Stone Theatre reserves the right to alter messages that are inappropriate or do not comply with engraving specifications.
