The Associate of Science in Geology prepares students to transfer to four-year institutions for continued study. Students will be exposed to dating techniques and investigative methods that explore physical phenomena such as volcanoes and earthquakes. Geologists in the field apply methods and techniques from different scientific disciplines in search of new sources of energy producing materials, additional reserves of mineral resources, and hidden quantities of ground water. Students entering the fields of geography, earth science, environmental law, geochemistry, civil and environmental engineering will also be served by this option.
