
Jacqueline L. Cox Receives Cecil’s Outstanding Student Award
Jacqueline L. Cox of Elkton, Md. was presented with the 2007 Donald M. Thomey Outstanding Student Award at Cecil College’s 38th annual commencement ceremony on May 20. The award honors the student graduating with an associate’s degree who has the highest grade point average and has taken all course work at Cecil College. It comes with a cash prize and is presented in honor of Harford County resident Donald M. Thomey, the retired president of Maryland Materials, Inc. Thomey is a longtime friend and supporter of the Cecil College Foundation, Inc. and the college.
Cox earned a registered nurse associate’s degree from Cecil College. She was
continually on Cecil’s President’s List and was inducted into the Alpha Alpha Theta
chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society.
Cox has accepted a position in the Progressive Care Unit at Union Hospital in Elkton
and would like to earn a bachelor of science degree in nursing in the future. She
graduated from Christiana High School in 1979.
