Conditions for Athletic Scholarships

All student-athletes who are offered an Athletic Scholarship to attend Cecil College must sign an official award letter.
Termination of Athletic Scholarship will occur based on the following terms:
1. If student-athlete becomes ineligible, scholarship will become terminated. All student-athletes must remain eligible to receive athletic scholarship that meets the satisfactory progress guidelines of the institution and the NJCAA.
2. If student-athlete removes him or herself and/or are placed on suspension for athletics for discipline reasons, scholarship will become terminated immediately.
3. Student-athletes are required to abide by the Athletic Department’s Mandatory Study Hall rules and regulations. The Following Students MUST attend Mandatory Study Hall.
All incoming Freshmen, Any Student-Athlete enrolled in (Math 091, 092, 093), (COM 091 & EGL 100) and/or (COM 091 & REA 100) AND Any student-athlete below a 2.50 GPA. Once a student-athlete has earned a 2.50 GPA or higher, they are released from study hall. If the student-athlete’s GPA falls below a 2.50, he or she is required to return to study hall for the following semester.
4. Recipients of athletic scholarships are required to receive permission from the Athletic Academic Advisor before dropping or withdrawing from registered courses. Failure to adhere to this policy could lead to ineligibility of athletic competition. As a result, scholarships will not being renewed for the subsequent term.
5. Cecil College rules and regulations provide that, as part of active participation in its intercollegiate athletic program, a student-athlete must comply at all times with all applicable laws as well as all college and NJCAA rules and regulations concerning the use of unlawful substances and / or substances that have the potential for abuse or are hazardous to your health as determined by the medical advisors of the college
6. Renewal of all Trustees Athletic Scholarships MUST be approved by the Athletic Director.
