ABE – Adult Basic Education

Prepare for GED classes, or if you have your diploma, brush up on basic skills and life skills. Instruction is offered in math, reading and writing. There are no tuition or book fees for ABE classes.

GED – General Education Development

Earn your Maryland High School Diploma! Enroll in classes to prepare for the five areas covered on the GED examination. GED classes are 10 week cycles. Tuition is $75; the GED book is $20.

GED Practice Examination

The GED Practice Examination is offered the first Friday of every month from 9:00am – 2:00pm. Practice examinations can also be scheduled by appointment. To sign up for a Friday practice examination or to schedule a practice exam call Julie Simonson at 410-392-3366. A $10 fee covers the cost of the practice exam and must be paid prior to taking the exam.

GED State Examination

The State GED Examination is administered by the Maryland State Department of Education every month at Cecil College, Technology Center. You must send your application to the Maryland State Department of Education by the 15th of the month prior to the test date. Applications are available by calling the Maryland State Department of Education at 410-767-0538 or log on to www.gogedgo.org to print an application.

Transportation Available!!!

Limited transportation is available for students taking morning classes at the Elkton Station.

Scholarships Available!!

A limited number of scholarships are available for individuals wishing to attend GED classes. Student may apply for a scholarship to continue studies with the College after earning their GED.
