Youth Sports Camps
Summer Basketball Camp for Boys and Girls
Cecil College's Youth Basketball program will teach players the fundamentals necessary
to become good basketball players. Bill Lewit, Men's Head Basketball Coach, who has been
selected Coach of the Year for the State and Region a combined twelve times, will teach
and oversee the camp. His teams have been nationally ranked between #1 and #6 for the past
several years. The 2006 team won the NJCAA National Championship.
Coach Lewit, along with his nationally ranked men's basketball team players,
will be responsible for teaching and demonstrating basketball fundamentals. Coach Lewit
will stress confidence, teamwork, effort and sportsmanship, which he feels are important
ingredients in achieving success on and off the court.
Camp Activities: Fundamentals taught include shooting, passing, dribbling,
rebounding, defense, team play and sportsmanship. Three-on-three and five-on-five league
games. Free throw shooting and hot-shot competitions.
Camp Features: College gym, t-shirts, written evaluations analyzing your skills,
an athletic trainer on duty, entertaining videos during lunch, players grouped according to
age and ability, extra individual instruction, prizes and awards, free before and after care 8:00am - 4:30pm.
When/Who: Week One:
June 16-20, 2008, Monday-Friday, 9:00am-3:00pm
Incoming 5th through 9th grade boys and girls
Week Two:
June 23-27, 2008, Monday-Friday, 9:00am-3:00pm
Incoming 1st through 9th grade boys and girls
What to Bring: Desire to learn, basketball sneakers, athletic shorts and
shirt. Padlock is optional. Bag lunch, or if you prefer, Pizza Hut pan pizzas and soda will be available
at lunch time for $5.00.
Cost: $150.00 per player; $10.00 discount for each additional family member.
For any 5th through 9th grader wishing to attend both weeks, there will be a $10.00 discount for the second
week. For organizational purposes, please pre-register.

Summer Baseball Camp

Camp Activities: Hitting, pitching, fielding, and base running. Both the mental
and physical fundamental baseball techniques will be included.
Camp Features: Competitive drills, games, competition and evaluation for each
camp participant.
When/Who:
July 7-11 and July 21-25 2008, Monday-Friday, 9:00am-3:00pm
Ages 9-18 years old
What to Wear/Bring: Baseball pants, t-shirt, glove, cleats and bats are optional.
Bring bag lunch, water coolers will be available on the field.
Cost: $140.00 per player per week; $25.00 discount for each additional family member
or for additional week.

Summer Volleyball Camp

Camp Activities: Basic volleyball fundamentals will be taught.
When/Who:
July 28-August 1, 2008, Monday-Friday, 6:00-9:00pm
Sixth through Twelfth Graders
Skill level: Beginner to Advanced

Summer Volleyball Camp Registration Form

Specialized Basketball Shooting Camp for Boys and Girls
Bill Lewit, Men's Basketball Coach and current members of the nationally ranked men's
and women's basketball teams will be responsible for teaching and demonstrating all aspects
of shooting the basketball. As a senior in college, Coach Lewit led his team in free throws
and 3-point shooting percentages. His Cecil teams have twice led the nation in scoring while
averaging over 104 points per game. For the past several years Cecil has been ranked between
#1 and #6, and Coach Lewit has been selected state and region Coach of the Year a combined
twelve times and National Junior College Coach of the Year in 2006. He will stress the proper
shooting form and work ethic to make each player a more accurate, confident, and successful shooter.
Camp Activities: Shooting fundamentals such as mental game, 3-point shooting,
free throw shooting, shooting off the catch, screen, dribble, fast break and more. Shooting contests
and 5-on-5 full-court games.
Camp Features: College gym, t-shirts, written evaluations analyzing your skills,
an athletic trainer on duty, descriptive shooting work-out, instructional videos, players grouped to
age and ability, extra individual instruction emphasizing perfect practice habits, prizes and awards.
When/Who:
August 4-8, 2008, Monday-Friday, 9:00am-1:00pm
Incoming 7th through 11th grade boys and girls
What to Bring: Desire to learn, basketball sneakers, athletic shorts and
shirt. Padlock is optional. Bag lunch, or if you prefer, Pizza Hut pan pizzas and soda will be available
at lunch time for $5.00.
Cost: $115.00 per player; $10.00 discount for each additional family member.
This camp is limited to the first 70 players enrolled.

Summer Tennis Camp
Coach Krummel is entering her 4th season as Head Women's Tennis Coach at Cecil College.
Prior to coaching at CC, she was the Assistant Coach of the co-ed tennis team at Rising Sun High School (MD).
She is also a certified PTR who actively teaches at CC and through local Parks & Recreation. She is a
USTA and WTT member and regularly plays on teams throughout the year. Coach Krummel,
along with current and former members of the Cecil Women's Tennis Team, will be responsible for teaching and demonstrating all aspects
of the game of tennis.
Camp Activities: Small group sizes, fundamentals of the forehand, backhand,
volley and serve taught and reinforced, strategy, mental preparation and confidence building, competitive and fun drills, games,
competition, awards, prizes, t-shirt and written evaluation for each camp participant.
When/Who:
August 11-15, 2008, Monday-Friday, 8:30am-1:30pm. Free before and after care available.
Incoming 3rd through 10th grade boys and girls. Campers will be grouped by age and skill level.
What to Bring: Bag lunch, or if you prefer, Pizza Hut lunch and beverage will be available
at lunch time for $5.00.
Cost: $125.00 per player; $10.00 discount for each additional family member.
