NORTH EAST, Md: Cecil College is looking for students interested in the 2024-2025 Dwight D. Eisenhower Transportation Fellowship (DDETFP) grant worth up to $5,000. This grant supports students pursuing a degree in various academic fields that advance the nation’s transportation industry. The deadline to apply for this grant is Friday, May 24, 2024.

Students must be enrolled full-time in an accredited program for the 2024–2025 academic year with a plan of study in one or more transportation-related disciplines. Grant awardees will participate in Cecil College’s DDETFP Research Cohort, which includes attending the annual meeting of the Transportation Research Board.

The goal of the DDETFP is to attract the nation’s brightest minds to the field of transportation. Students who are planning to enter the transportation profession after completing their education can pursue a degree in engineering and non-engineering disciplines, including the sciences, business, psychology, engineering, and supply chain management.

Fellowship awards are based on rankings made by the Federal Highway Administration with the recommendations of the DDETFP Selection Panel at Cecil College. Fellowship recipients have traditionally received up to $1,500 to be used toward attending the Annual Meeting of the Transportation Research Board (TRB) of the National Academies in Washington, D.C., which will take place in January 2025.

In past years, a maximum of $5,000 was awarded to cover tuition, mandatory fees, TRB attendance or some combination of the three. Each awardee will have the option of distributing their award amounts into each category as they see fit.
