NORTH EAST, Md: The Cecil Leadership Institute is a program designed for adults that are emerging leaders in the county to learn from each other as well as key decision makers at a wide array of businesses and organizations throughout the county.

The 25-year-old program is co-sponsored by Cecil College and the Cecil County Office of Economic Development and has more than 500 graduates. The Cecil Leadership Institute (CLI) is now accepting applications for the Class of 2024. The deadline to apply for the 2024 Cecil Leadership Institute is January 16, 2024.

The Class of 2024 will begin in February, meeting on consecutive Wednesdays through May. The 15-week program includes more than 75 hours of instruction over 30 sessions throughout the spring semester. The sessions take place on campus and at various businesses and organizations throughout Cecil County. Presenters provide an in-depth look at the inner workings of their organizations as well as the impact on the county. In addition, each presenter discusses their leadership style and the culture of the company. If available, tours of facilities are often insightful for the group. Complementing the local leader presentations is a core curriculum of leadership-based lectures, discussions, and exercises.

This unique learning opportunity introduces participants to diverse perspectives on growth and prosperity issues. Along with developing and advancing their leadership skills, CLI participants increase their professional networks, are introduced to innovative thought leaders within Cecil County and practice critical thinking.

Cecil Leadership Institute is managed by Cecil College’s Division of Continuing Education and Workforce Development.
