NORTH EAST, Md. – The beauty, passion and artistic talent of the Cecil College art and design program students will be on full display for six weeks in the Elkton Station Gallery next month. The 2022 Art & Design Student Exhibition will feature drawings, paintings, designs, sculptures, and ceramic works created by students during the past five months.

The 2022 fall Art & Design Student Exhibit opens Friday, Dec. 2, in conjunction with the First Friday Art Loop in Elkton and runs through January 11. There will be an opening reception from 5 – 8 p.m. on December 2. In addition to the exhibition, there will be a pottery sale, with proceeds benefiting the Art and Design Program at Cecil College.

“This year’s exhibit highlights pieces selected by the art faculty and represents the range of work created in the program. Proceeds from the pottery sale benefit art students,” said Professor of Art Lauren Vanni.

Works on display include paintings by Kelly Crouch and three-dimensional ceramic pieces by Port Deposit ceramicist Mary Jo Fitz.

Art enthusiasts can enjoy this year’s exhibit in person and virtually. The Elkton Station Gallery is open Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. – 10 p.m., Friday from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. To view the exhibition virtually, visit www.arts.cecil.edu/FallExhibit.
