NORTH EAST, Md. – Cecil College is excited to announce a new articulation agreement with Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) that offers seamless transfer opportunities for Cecil graduates. These transfer pathways enable students to own their future as they further their education and advance their careers.

Through the agreement, Cecil graduates will be able to transfer up to 90 credits to be applied to a bachelor’s degree program at SNHU, a nonprofit, accredited institution that offers approximately 200-degree programs, many of which are available online.

“This new transfer agreement with SNHU covers eleven different majors. Thanks to SNHU’s low tuition and robust online course offerings, Cecil students will be able to complete their four-year degrees at low cost and without having to leave Cecil County,” said Dr. Christy Dryer, Vice President of Academic Programs at Cecil College.

This agreement guarantees transferability of all credits outlined in the following Cecil College associate degrees to the corresponding SNHU bachelor’s degrees:

  • A. Addictions & Chemical Dependency to B.A. Human Services
  • A. Art Graphic Design to B.A. Graphic Design Media Art
  • A. Business Administration to B.S. Business Administration
  • A.S. Criminal Justice to B.S. Criminal Justice
  • S. Exercise Science to B.S. Health Science
  • A. General Studies to B.A. General Studies
  • S. Healthcare Sciences to B.S. Health Science
  • S. Nursing to B.S. Nursing
  • A.S. Paramedic to B.S. Health Sciences
  • A.S. Supply Chain Management to B.S. Operations Management Logistics & Transportation
  • A.S. Supply Chain Management to B.S. Business Administration

Under the terms of this agreement, Cecil College alumni, employees, and immediate family members – spouses, domestic partners, children, siblings, and parents – will receive a 10 percent tuition reduction for SNHU’s online programs. If they enroll in an SNHU graduate program, they will receive an application fee waiver.

“At SNHU, we partner with a number of community colleges across the country to help students continue their education, and we’re proud to be teaming up with Cecil College,” said Dr. Jennifer Batchelor, Interim Senior Vice President at SNHU. “Through this new partnership, thousands of learners will have the opportunity to seamlessly transfer their credits to SNHU and continue on their educational journey.”

Articulation agreements are formal partnerships between two or more colleges and universities, documenting the transfer policies for a specific academic program or degree. These partnerships ensure students do not waste time, money, or credits by repeating a course at the four-year institution.

Cecil College has partnerships for most associate degree programs from nursing to engineering, marketing, and fine arts. Four-year institutions look favorably upon students who utilize these agreements due to the proven track record that transfer students traditionally excel and are better prepared for their four-year schools’ rigorous coursework. These standards also result in Cecil College graduates being heavily recruited by many academic institutions.
