Schutt receives post-season honors

NORTH EAST, Md. – Sophomore Andrew Schutt was the shining star on Cecil College’s baseball team for the 2018 season and recognized for his exceptional performance with a second-team selection for the Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference (Maryland JUCO).

Schutt, a resident of Bel Air, Md., played in 43 games for the Seahawks at third base and the outfield. He finished with a .322 batting average and .434 on-base percentage to lead the Seahawks. In his 146 plate appearances, he connected for four home runs and 12 doubles along with getting on base with 22 walks.

Along with scoring 26 runs, he drove in 33 runs and stole nine bases. Schutt’s fielding percentage was .867. The Seahawks finished with a 14-33 overall record.

Schutt is a graduate of North Harford High School.
