QuickBooks Certification will prepare you to become a QuickBook Certified User. Instruction covers setting up charts of accounts, reconcile checking accounts, create and print invoices, receipts and statements, track account payables, and inventory. Once the course is completed, the student can take the QuickBooks Certified Exam. The course consist of 8 sessions totaling 24 hours.

QuickBooks Advanced will take your knowledge of QuickBooks to the next level. The objective of the course is to obtain a more comprehensive and working knowledge of the software. At the completion of the course students should have a firm understanding of reporting results of the information generated. The class consist of 8 sessions total 24 hours.

Environmental Health & Safety

With our ever-growing population and the health challenges that we face on a day-to-day basis, the employment outlook is very favorable for individuals wanting a career in environmental health.

Activated Sludge Process Control will examine the principles of biologically treating wastewater with activated sludge, defining and examining traditional process control tests, performing and interpreting each test, and recording test results. This course consists of 1 session totaling 7 hours.

Water Storage, Distribution and Pumps will teach the practical aspects of operating and maintaining water distribution systems, while emphasizing safe practices and procedures. Topics covered will be pumping, storage, valves, and distribution operations and maintenance. This course consists of 1 session totaling 7 hours.

Bartending Professional combines classes in Mixology, learning the basics of consistent pouring of all the classics and the latest trendy cocktails. The course will also cover the importance of bar management, the essentials of liquor arrangement and inventory control. This course consists of 4 sessions totaling 12 hours.

Essentials of Human Resources Management is an entry-level program designed for those who are just starting their career in the human resource profession, or a more seasoned professional looking to boost their management skills. The instruction gives critical knowledge to help reduce potentially costly lawsuits and improves an organizations ability to challenging issues. This class will be held at Harford Community College Campus. This course consists of 6 sessions totaling 18 hours.

Professional Human Resources Management is an advanced program offered in partnership with the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM). The curriculum for the SHRM Certified HR Professional Test Prep Course covers the entire body of Competency and Knowledge, which encourages professionals to acquire the competencies, and knowledge they will need to effectively perform their jobs. This course will be held at Harford Community College. The course consists of 13 sessions totaling 36 hours.

Enhance your skills with training in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and become more marketable in the workplace.

Microsoft Excel Essentials pinpoints the various tools and skills need to use Microsoft Excel. The course covers formatting, how to create and maintain tables and charts, and functions, pivots tables and working with multiple worksheets. This course consists of 5 sessions totaling 10 hours.

Excel Tables will allow students to learn basic skills for Excel tables. Students will learn data storage, basics, and sorting and filtering data. This course consists of 1 session totaling 3 hours.

Excel Charts focuses on working with Excel charts. Students will understand the basics of creating charts designs, pie charts, column charts and editing chart data. This course consists of 1 session totaling 3 hours.

Formulas and Functions in Excel opens the student’s understanding of how to work with functions, conditional formatting, and relative and absolute reference. This course consists of 1 session totaling 3 hours.

Excel PivotTables and PivotCharts instructs the student on how to work with Excel PivotTables and PivotCharts, preparing large data sets, importing from external data sources. This course consists of 1 session totaling 3 hours.

Microsoft Word Essentials covers the various tools and skills need to develop themes, move test, customize headers, and footers apply styles and change margins. This course consists of 3 sessions totaling 6 hours.

Microsoft PowerPoint Essentials identifies and covers the various tools and skills needed to use Microsoft PowerPoint. Students will learn techniques for presentations, incorporating and editing video clips, creating custom logos, developing themes, and complex animation. This course consists of 3sessions totaling 6 hours.

Real Estate

Real estate can be a great career for those who have the entrepreneurial drive to forge their own way and control their own professional destiny.

Pre-License Training explores the basic concepts of real estate law, ownership, transfers of property, the closing process, brokerage, contracts, listing agreements and laws. This will prepare students to sit for the Maryland Real Estate Commission Certification Exam. This course consists of 20 sessions totaling 60 hours.

Visual Communications

Digital Imaging I will explore both the technical aspects of image manipulations as well as the artistic aspects of creating images. You will learn to use a digital camera, film and flatbed scanners, archival printers and the professional imaging software Adobe Photoshop. This course consists of 7 sessions totaling 25 hours.

Digital Imaging II allows you to expand your digital imaging capabilities with Adobe Photoshop and get an introduction to graphic design with the professional desktop publishing software, QuarkXPress. Topics will include fine art and commercial applications of digital imaging and design. This course consists of 7 sessions totaling 25 hours.

Voice Over Careers

Getting Paid to Talk will introduce you to the growing field of voice over. Instructions will be given as to what the professionals look for, and how to prepare, and where to find work in your area. As part of this course, the student will be able to record a short professional script under the direction of the instructor. This course consists of 1 session totaling 2.5 hours.
