Cecil College offers MVA-certified Driver Education for teens, including 30 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of behind-the-wheel training. Additionally, an $85 Driver Improvement course is available for adults to enhance driving skills and meet MVA requirements.
Driver Education 30-hour classroom instruction is currently being offered via online/in-person classrooms. To register, you must enroll online. We are also scheduling behind-the-wheel instruction for those who have started their coursework. Use the Student Portal to find an open time slot. Registration & Cost
For your convenience, all driver education classes will offer online enrollment only. If you are enrolling in a driver education class, please register online.
The total cost of this program is $445. That includes the 30-hour classroom portion, which is $145, and 2-hour sessions of Behind the Wheel (BTW) training, which are $100 each (three BTW appointments are required).
Transferring for Behind the Wheel Only
Cecil College offers students who have completed the classroom portion of Driver Education with another certified driving school to transfer their records and complete the Behind the Wheel (BTW) portion with us.
We offer 2-hour sessions of BTW training, which are $100 each; three BTW appointments are required.

Driver Improvement
We also offer the Driver Improvement class for ages 18 and older. This $85 course is designed to improve students’ driving skills and meet the MVA requirements for those drivers assigned to complete the program in order to retain their driving privileges. Topics include causes of crashes and prevention, the point system and its implications, alcohol and drugs, and driving as a privilege.

3-Hour Roadway Safety Driving Education Program
The 3-Hour Roadway Safety Driving Education Program (AKA Safe & Sober) is $149 and is a three-hour class required by the Maryland MVA for drivers who have a valid driver's license from another country and want to apply for a Maryland driver's license.
A certificate is issued to the student after successful completion of the in-person class.

Refund Policy
- If the student withdraws 24 hours before the scheduled class, the course cost of $149 will be fully refunded.
- If the student does not arrive within 15 minutes of the scheduled appointment time for the class with the required paperwork, a fee of $50 will be incurred. Once the fee is paid, the class may be rescheduled.
