Cecil College is the recipient of a $250,000 grant from the Governor’s Emergency Education Relief (GEER) Fund intended to support students training for a career or re-entering the workforce. Scholarships are available until funds are depleted. Apply today!

Eligible Programs

The following opportunities are available for recent graduates of a GED program.

Medical Assistant Program

Although GEER funds for the MAP program have been depleted at this time, the Medical Assistant program is still accepting applications for spring. This program is eligible for financial aid. Basic Construction Course

Take the first step toward your career in the skilled trades for free. If you are a recent graduate of a GED program, you may be eligible to complete the Basic Construction course with a full course scholarship. This course is a pre-requisite to Cecil College’s Welding and HVAC programs, and can lead to an NCCER Basic Construction certification. Full scholarships are available for the following courses. Each course can lead to an industry-recognized credentialing exam. In addition, these courses apply to credit programs for those who are interested in continuing their education.

How to Apply for the Scholarship

To be apply for the GEER scholarship, fill out the GEER Application Interest Form. Once you complete the interest form, you will be emailed the official GEER scholarship application. Make sure you use an email that you check regularly. After submitting the application, it will be forwarded for approval.
