This course is available to students 18 years or older due to the fact that only students 18 years of age and older may complete the first segment of this course online. Students under the age of 18 are required to take all segments in-person, which Cecil College does not currently offer.

Steps for Completing Driver Improvement

Part One: Online Course

  1. Visit md-drivercourses.com.
  2. Complete the online course.
  3. Upon completion of the online course, save your completion certificate.

Part Two: Register with Cecil College

  1. Register online.
  2. After registering, watch for an email titled "Account Activation" from cecilcollege@nullmyeform2.net. Student accounts are activated during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Part Three: Upload Documents to Student Portal

  1. Use the link, username, and password provided in the email you receive to access your student portal.
  2. Once logged in to the student portal, upload the following:

    1. Picture of your driver's license or state issued ID.
    2. Your completion certificate.
    3. Letter of assignment from MVA.

Part Four: Schedule and Take In-Person Test

  1. Call (410) 287-1096 or send an email to drive@nullcecil.edu to schedule your appointment for testing.
  2. On the day of your appointment, arrive at Elkton Station located at 107 Railroad Avenue in Elkton, Maryland at your scheduled appointment time and be sure to bring your Maryland driver's license or Maryland state issued photo ID with you to the test.

Refund Policy

  • If the student withdraws 24 hours before the scheduled test, the course cost of $75 will be fully refunded.
  • If the student does not arrive within 15 minutes of the scheduled appointment time for the test with the required paperwork, a fee of $25 will be incurred. Once the fee is paid, the test may be rescheduled.

Additional Information for Students

Once the Driver Improvement course has been completed, please note the following:

  • Updating the participant’s driving record is dependent on the provider (Cecil College) transmitting the DIP completion information to the Administration (MD MVA) within 24 business hours of completing the program.
  • The Administration (MD MVA) may not remove a suspension or reinstate the participant’s driving privilege until the provider (Cecil College) submits the program completion information updates to the participant’s driving record.
